Tectonic Setting of Mount Agung, Bali: Insight From Petrology and Geochemistry Analysis

چکیده
Abstract One of the longest arcs in world originated from complexity subduction zones is Sunda Arc that covers 80% Indonesia's active volcanoes, Andaman, Sumatra, Java, and Lesser Islands. Previous research magmatism has conceded continental crust west becomes progressively oceanic towards east. However, recent suggested basement more widespread than previously thought. Therefore, this study aims to re-evaluate tectonic setting Mount Agung, Bali, part Based on results published geochemistry data analysis our petrological and/or mineralogical data, we found Agung was influenced by three cogenetic magmas can be divided into 4 eruption periods, i.e., pre- 3200±60 BP, – 1870±40 1040±50 post-1040±50 BP. These calc-alkaline were derived partial melting caused Indo-Australian Plate within Eurasian Plate. It produced basalt dacite rocks with SiO 2 varying between 51 63 wt%. As seen spider diagram, Rb, Ba, Th, K, La Sm contents are enriched, while Eu Lu experienced depletion. In addition, Nb content shows a negative anomaly, which characteristic volcanic products convergent plate boundaries. ratio Zr Zr/Y, it introduces affected arcs. La/Sm Th/Nb diagram reveals older period (pre-1040±50 BP), magma differentiation process subduction-related enrichment, younger (post-1040±50 there may slight influence presence crustal contamination. Thus, these analyses presume Bali Island (micro-continent basement), become eastern end boundary Sundaland.

baft ophiolitic – mélange belt is a part of the ophiolite melange belt of central iran whose genesis is considered as an environment related to tethys subduction at upper cretaceous. major part of intrusive masses of baft ophiolitic – melange form gabbros with the inequigranular texture fine to coarse and pegmatitic, plagiogranites also with inequigranular general texture have been developed wi...

15 صفحه اولMidocean Ridge Geochemistry and Petrology
The most volcanically active regions of our planet are concentrated along the axes of the globe, encircling midocean ridges. These undersea mountain ranges, and most of the oceanic crust, result from the complex interplay between magmatic (i.e., eruptions of lavas on the surface and intrusion of magma at depth) and tectonic (i.e., faulting, thrusting, and rifting of the solid portions of the ou...
